Today is the official start of Fall and Google honors it with a doodle. So this is the perfect day to post my painting called “Fall Messenger”. It is based on a photography I made years ago during a vacation in Schladming, Styria. I always loved this colorful tree in fall colors, glowing like a sun, a willow in the background, some bushes with brownish fall colors, and with a park bench beneath the trees, inviting you to sit and enjoy the surrounding mountains and beautiful scenery.
This painting can be seen in my current exhibition in Bad Schallerbach, Upper Austria, but has already been sold. You can buy canvas prints, posters, greeting cards and even iPhone covers here.
Vernissage means opening of an art exhibition. My exhibition in Bad Schallerbach (Upper Austria) was opened yesterday by such a Vernissage. We had a wonderful evening. It was a lot of work to prepare and not easy, due to my torn back (lumbago), but in the end it was all worth it. It would not have been possible without the help of many friends. Two recent acquaintances, Karlheinz und Monika, helped with leading through the program and interviewing me. My neighbors Birgit and Ute prepared great snacks and helped with serving drinks. Carmen Graf provided the musical ambiance.
We had more visitors than expected. Some drove even more than an hour to participate in the Vernissage and a good time was had by all. I was blessed to see many long-term friends as well as locals from Bad Schallerbach and people visiting for their medical spa treatment. Bad Schallerbach is a famous spa center and place for medical spa treatments.
This is another painting based on somebody’s favorite vacation picture. Sabine who is from Lower Austria but lives now in Styria wrote:
My family organizes each year a family hiking day. This time we chose the area around Hollenburg. We hiked through the vineyards on a roundabout way to the lookout near restaurant “Lumpazibräu”. On the hike were several great vantage points, two of them with a beautiful view of the Danube. For us these photos are beautiful memories of a beautiful day, and for me a piece of my old home region to take with me to my new home region.”
Even if these place names don’t tell you much, you can see that this is a beautiful area near Krems in Lower Austria.
